  1. yep. try vacationstogo.com

  2. yes, you could do that, but you would have to pay for the entire cruise.  How would you get back, home, or are you planning on staying?

  3. Not generally.  Easy Cruise used to sell cruises by the day, but they don't appear to be in the Caribbean.  There are rules about cruises as transport beginning and ending at US Ports, which sometimes makes it impossible for most cruise ships to do that kind of thing.

Two things you might consider, if you're not absolutely determined to do Puerto Rico - there ARE one way cruises to Hawaii, I think, that you can take from the west coast, and you can take a one way trip (more a ferry than a cruise, but transport is what you want, right?) to the Bahamas.

  4. you can do that but you will be expected to pay for the entire cruise even though you are leaving mid-way.  I did this one time when I had a wedding to attend on the last day of the cruise I had already paid for.  It worked nicely.

Also there are boats that go back and forth from fort lauderdale florida to all of the bahamas, puerto rico, haiti & dominican republic so you should look into that because it would be much cheaper then taking a cruise boat.

  5. You "could" take a cruise from Miami to San Juan, and "miss" the ship when it leaves.  I am not sure what this position this would put you in legally.  Cruise passengers are supposed to leave with the ship according to customs.

  6. First of all, if you are talking about going from Miami to San Juan, Puerto Rico you would have to book the entire cruise, even though you are only planning to spend two days on the ship.

The second problem is, you might be in violation of the Passenger Services Act (PSA) ...

No foreign vessels shall transport passengers between ports or places in the United States, either directly or by way of a foreign port, under a penalty of $300 for each passenger so transported and landed.

All the ships in the Caribbean are foreign flagged.  Puerto Rico is a US territory.

However, there are some exceptions to the PSA ...

In order to embark in a US port and disembark in a second US port, the vessel must visit either Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao or Colombia.

One possibility is the Serenade of the Seas.  Every October it travels from California, through the Panama Canal and ends in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  It is a thirteen night cruise.  Here is some more information about it ...

    Cruise line:   Royal Caribbean

Ship name:   Serenade of the Seas

Ports of call:  Los Angeles, California; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Acapulco, Mexico; Huatulco, Mexico; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Panama Canal; Cristobal, Panama; Oranjestad, Aruba; San Juan, Puerto Rico

    2008 departures: October 26
