My boyfriend and I just found out we are expecting. So we have decided that when my lease is up at the end of October that i will move in with him. He lives in another state and we have been together for almost 2 years. Before we found out i was pregnant we had talked about moving in together so this wasn't something we jumped into because of the baby, Now the only problem is every time i leave his place to go back to work the next week I cry and carry on because I just hate leaving and being alone in my apartment. I really just want to quit my job and get out of my lease! Any advice oh smart yahoo society??

  1. Yeah, get married!!!

  2. aaaah the beauty of the pregnant hormones.  we've all been there before.  it's kinda nice feeling that close to someone, isn't it?  don't worry - these insecure feelings will pass.  it's probably due to the pregnancy and not knowing what to expect between you, him and the baby.

    it'll be okay.

  3. October will be here soon. I would try and gut it out.

  4. TALK TO  YOUR LAND LORD AND SEE WHAT HE SAYS,,AND U NEVER NO HE MIGHT LET YOU OUT OF IT,,OR IF U COULD FIND A NOTHER RENTER,,TO TAKE OVER YOUR LEASE,,PEACE

  5. See if you can buy your way out of that lease. Talk to your landlord.

  6. Put that sadness energy to good use.  Start applying for jobs in his area, you might get lucky.  And, talk to your apartment manager about what it would take to get out of your lease early - some of them are willing to cut a deal rather than have to deal with a suddenly empty apartment, failure to pay, small claims court, etc.

  7. I would not leave my home, give up my job unless I was getting married.  After two years together, has he talked about marriage or just playing house.  You need to be self sufficient and not naive.  I'm saying this because too many females have given up everything to be with a man only to end up later with nothing.

  8. I completely understand and sympathize with your emotions and feelings on the matter, however I have some advice for you I'm not sure you'll like.

Don't move in with him yet!  The end of October is only 2 months away, just wait the two months out.  I would understand if it were 5 or 6 months left on the lease, but really I mean it's only 2 months.  It will seem like torture I'm sure, and you'll be lonely and sad, and missing him.. but is two months really worth ruining your credit over and losing your deposit?  Plus, not only will you end up burning your landlord bridges, but you will burn your employment bridges as well -- the less notice you give your current employer, the less thrilled they will be with you and more likely to bad mouth your to prospective employers.

Wait out the 2 months and you won't regret it, don't worry. :)  Everything happens for a reason.

    Good luck with your move!

  9. Most communities will allow you to pay a "lease break fee" but you still have to give a 30 day notice and the fee is normally equivalent to 2 months rent so that makes NO sense this late in the game.  Just suck it up.  It's August.  Start packing things now that you won't need until the move.  Do a little bit after work each day & it'll help you to feel like you're moving forward.  Best of luck.
