  1. go to youtube...you can download songs, videos and documentaries out there. but you need to have a youtubedownloader program to download it.

  2. Itunes and Zune martket place are a great place for SAFE music downloads!

  3. Limewire is a P2P(Peer to Peer) program and your downloading files from other users so you have to be careful. You could try downloading music through torrent files(use uTorrent) and even use other P2P programs like Frostwire and possibly download them from websites. Regardless you'll want a good anti virus scanner because no matter what there's a chance you'll find viruses.

I'll also give you a few tips:

    1. Don't download small mp3s

    2. Download a small bit of the file(maybe 400kb-500kb or 1/4th of a file).and play it, if the file does NOT play(and many times it displays an error) then chances are it could be infected(where as a clean file would play).

    3. Also highlight an MP3 to see the info, sometimes the information can give you hints as to which files are infected.

    4. Finally there is spam in P2P programs and nearly 99% of the time the files are trash and infected.

    Hope this helps.

An obvious alternative is Youtube or to buy mp3s(yeah... right). The best places are P2P though and I really recomend Frostwire.

  4. You are not alone. I know several people that hate Limewire (or most other peer-to-peer networks) after they encountered unwanted material in the form of viruses.

My answer: Most people use peer-to-peer for downloading illegal stuff. And unfortunately that comes with hazards. Limewire, if you insist to go that route, is as good (or as bad) as any other.

    My advice: Stay away!

  5. ok,listen to me,any program that you can download songs or videos for free will usually have a virus of some sort...Limewire is a peer to peer network meaning that other users are giving you this stuff, not the company, that is how they can stay in buisness without a lawsuit getting them, because they "warn" people not to upload and download copyrighted information ...i really would NOT trust other people in the world...yes of course there are other p2p networks but you will still have the same chance of getting a virus...

(just type in google, "free peer to peer networks")

but take the guys advise above me and buy the songs.Thats is what an honest and TRUE music lover would do...
