  1. If you're a UK resident you don't need a visa

Moving to London may not be the solution to your problems, the problems you have now won't go away and you could wind up trapped in London with a different set of problems.

Being pretty doesn't qualify you to do anything & what it does qualify you for generally isn't worth doing or a very good long term investment.  Have a look around your home town & see if there's somewhere you can move to and a decent job that will keep you going.

If you really want to come to London because you think it will be a good place to live & work, come for a couple of days/weeks holiday.  Get to know a few areas outside of the West End, look at the newspapers to see what kind of jobs you'd be able to do & put together the costs of renting, transport, etc to give you an idea of what you'd need to be earning to live here.  Trust me when I say this that grand will vanish very quickly.

  2. Hmm, London's a really expensive city to live in, but if you think that you'd like to live there, you'll work it out.

Maybe you could consider getting a working visa?

    xx

  3. London isn't that expensive if you lived in the outskirts, places like orpington and such.

  4. Don't do it.

Move out if you want - but moving to London when you don't know anyone, you don't know your way around, you don't have a job, and you don't have much money is a recipe for disaster.

As another answerer said, women's shelters won't help you, you'll be looking at a hostel or a cheap b&b - and that's not a good place for a pretty 18 year old.

  5. Well if you're planning to move away from home, maybe you should move somewhere just a little closer to home, just to see if you can handle it before you go all the way to london. You don't want to get all settled in in London and then want to go home all of a sudden.

  6. Er get a flat and job??!!! There are women's refuges in London but they are for domestic abuse victims, homeless women and those who've ended up destitute through no fault of their own - not silly 'pretty' little girls who didn't want to live at home and ran away for fun.

Here's a place to start with both:

And a grand will last you 6 weeks in London if you're very, very careful with it. Hx
