I hate me name what do i do?

my name is Riley and i really don't like my name.my moms says my name is unique, but i just think that its more of a boys name than a girls name and i have a lot of people making fun of my name.do i wait until i am older to change my name or just keep it?

I like the name! I know a couple of girls named Riley.  Changing the spelling might help you feel better about it - Ryleigh is pretty - and looks more feminine.

But to actually answer your question - there is a way to legally change your name by going to court. There's a fee, lots of papers to sign, and your name legally becomes what you want it to be - you get a new social security card and such. I'm just not sure how old you are - or what the age limit to change your name is. You may have to be an adult to do it.  But whether the law says so or not, I'd wait until you're an adult to make such a drastic change.

I'm a girl too and my name is Leigh pronounced like Lee.

I've always thought my name was a boy's name, but actually it is unique and you should like your name.

Its a nice name. I considered naming my two year old daughter Riley. Keep your name because its special. Its something your mom gave you and she wanted you to have it!

dont worry about your name it is unique and many names are unisex nowadays anyway. think yourself lucky your not called a stupid name like regina or shirley!!i like your name!!definatly dont change it till your 18 you may find that as you get older you may actually grow to really like it, if not then you can change it then, but if i were you i would wait, just in case you do end up liking it, you never know!!!

I think Riley is a nice name. It is unique and I'm sure your parents and friends think you're one of a kind!! If you don't like your name go by a nickname or your middle name. Names are just identifiers, but it's not your identity. If people are making fun of you, it's because you possess something they wished they had. Stay true to yourself. Don't change for anyone.

Well, My nephew is named Riley. But There is a woman at my church who named her daughter Reilly. Mabey you can change the spelling cause I really do like the name.

Your name defines who you are. If people make fun of you, then they are just losers. So what if your name is unique? Unique names are awesome! It doesn't matter what other people think. Don't let other people influence you to change your name. Going through all that trouble to change your name is not worth it. Your name is cool. Keep it.
