I hate my DVR, want my TiVo back?

We previously had TiVo with DirecTVbut recently switched to digital cable because we got a a new TV and can only get our local channels in digital with cable. Anyway, I hate the new DVR and I miss my TiVo. Is there any way I can buy a TiVo to use with cable? Would I still be able to use the on-demand features?

Yes Tivo works with all of them,    you just have to buy  a tivo  and then hook it up to your  cable  tv

the best sat / dvr ever made  was the directv w/ tivo . stand alone tivos do have a monthly fee. i think around 12-14 $$$ and it also has to be plugged into a phone jack... when you say you can only get your locals digitally w/ cable do you mean hi-def  or are you in a rural area where your over the air signal is going thru an analog repeater tower ? did your dish have a 3 phase LNB ? ( 3 white, round, lenses pointing back at the dish? there is going to be that analog/ digital change in 2009. ( not to homes that use the repeater towers ) (in my region) if you still have your tivo hold on to it they dont make them w/ directv any more.......******disclaimer : although i do install both directv  and dish network and have also owned both myself...there still is the possibility that i have NO IDEA what I'm talking about .i gave up my directv tivo for a dish network HD system about 7 months ago and still have some regrets about it.....
