It's not a such a bad name.  I don't get a visual and it's nice because it's not so common. Chaunce is the only nickname I can see as being obvious.

Chauncey with the nickname of "Chan" was shown in the male names list at http://www.usgenweb.org/research/nicknam...  but had nothing similar under the girl's list, or even as a unisex name.

At http://www.babynames.com it also has the name Chauncey as a boy's name. It is English for "Chancellor".

If you are old enough, why not check into changing your name legally?

Chauncey could also be a family name handed down through the generations.
