I hate my neighbors?

Dogs aren't allowed in our complex and they're hiding one, it poops all over the asphalt and they don't clean it up. I hate that, I was thinking of secretly buying a dog whistle so he'd bark and annoy them all day--

what do you think? will this affect the dogs health and well being, i don't want to hurt him in any way, just my neighbors.

  1. Just ask them to pick up the p**p.  Leave the dog alone and live with it.  Stress can make a dog sick so don't do the whistle thing.  Apparently the landlord is allowing the dog to be there because you can't hide a dog.  Sounds like you just don't like your neighbors to me.

  2. Sometimes it seems the rules are made for everyone except the manager.

Call animal control and complain anonymously.

  3. not sure, but that wouldn't be the best plan of action anyway because suppose they will get annoyed, what will happen to the dogs if they decide to get rid of them. I think you should tell tell straight forwardly that they need to pick up after they're dogs. At least your neighbors aren't nosy pieces of garbage like mine are.

  4. OK If you live in sometype of Complex. You should take it up with the landlord. It would be illegal in her part to say "Well I Only Made An Exeption For Them." The landlord HAS to do something about it. Say that it is unsanitary and disgusting how the dog poops everywhere and it is unhealthy to be around. If you have kids say "It is unsanitary for my children, they play there." Even if they don't :)! The landlord will either get rid of the dog alone. Or both! If you were to do anything by yourself you can bother you other neighbors and then they will complain on you. Which gets you in way deeper then you want to get. Remember that the landlord can kick anyone out "With No Reason!" at any time. At the longest you will have to wait 30 days before they get evicted of get rid of the dog. So take it up with your landlord!

    EVICTION

Following appropriate notice, a landlord may bring a summary non-payment court proceeding to evict a tenant who fails to pay the agreed rent when due and to recover outstanding rent. A landlord may also bring a summary holdover eviction proceeding if, for example, a tenant significantly violates a substantial obligation under the lease, such as using the premises for illegal purposes, COMMITING OR PERMITTING NUISANCE! , or staying beyond the lease term without permission. (Real Property Actions Proceedings Law ("RPAPL") § 711)

To evict a tenant, a landlord must sue in court and win the case. Only a sheriff, marshal or constable can carry out a court ordered warrant to evict a tenant. (RPAPL §749) A landlord may not take the law into his/her own hands and evict a tenant by use of force or unlawful means. For example, a landlord cannot use threats of violence, remove a tenant's possessions, lock the tenant out of the apartment, or willfully discontinue essential services such as water or heat. (Real Property Law §235) When a tenant is evicted, the landlord may not retain the tenant's personal belongings or furniture.

A tenant who is put out of his/her apartment in a forcible or unlawful manner is entitled to recover triple damages in a legal action against the wrongdoer. Landlords in New York City who use illegal methods to force a tenant to move are also subject to both criminal and civil penalties. Further, the tenant is entitled to be restored to occupancy. (RPAPL §713, §853)

I hope you get them out as soon as possible!

  5. then go up to management and say "i see your friends with these people. what makes it ok for them to have a dog and everyone else will be evicted." Then if that doesn't work you should move to a mature development and proper management. I wouldn't put up with that. but don't be vindictive and act like a child as they seem to be. take the high road and be productive and firm.

  6. Don't play games. Report to the management their apartment number and the fact that they keep a dog. Then ask around to see if anyone else is bothered. If the dog is still there in three days, you or one of the others can contact management again.

  7. I had a neighbor with like 4 dogs and they let them outside ALL day ..it drove me nutz because they would bark non stop.

I wouldnt ever want to hurt the dog and im not sure if a whistle hurts them or not but it probably is not very nice for them. Why not try to take it up with your land lord? Call and let them know ..chances are they will make them move or get rid of the dog. ...alas my land lord did get rid of my neighbors with the barking dogs ..now a drug dealer that plays extreamly loud rap music all hours of the day and night moved in ..rude neighbors just get on my nerves :( ..good luck

  8. Tell the people that if they don't start cleaning up after the dog that you'll tell the landlord that they have one.  If they don't want to have to get rid of the dog, they'll clean it up.

Plus if you buy a whistle it'll annoy you too by barking all day.
