I hate my new step cousin!?

My Aunt is recently engaged which is great for her, the guy is totally nice and a great guy, but his daughter is a totally annoying t**t. She is 17 years old, but she acts like a 12 year old brat! She whines and moans about everything and constantly does the hypochondriac act. She also has a big ego, refuses to see things anyone else's way and thinks she super talented at everything when she is NOT. I want to like her, but she just does the most annoying things and I can't handle it. None of my other cousins (or even some of my other aunts) like her. She is just so annoying and rubs you the wrong way. My dad tried to tell me oh shes young maybe she will grow out of it. No, when I was 17 I was NOT like that, and that was only a few years ago! But of course she favors me so I'm responsible for keeping her entertained and it totally rains on the parade of hanging out with my other cousins who are all really cool. UGH. I just hate it. I'm known for being openly saying whatever I feel about people, but I have tried to state it in a nice way to tell her shes being an a*****e but I don't want to make things weird for my aunt who has to live with the hellian.

Ashley try not to take things personally. Try to look at it as this girl is spiritually sick and probably is in love with herself or she has self hater. There are many reasons people seek attention and those are two reasons why. If she says and does things call her on the carpet. Be nice about it and keep your emotions out of it when you do. You could say things to her like, "Wow, do you really believe that?" Things of that nature. By putting it back on her it's not your problem. And, some other ways to respond are, "Oh I see" "Is that so?" "Aw, I understand". Don't feed into her egotistical head games. She feeds off it. Good luck and try very hard not to take it personally. I would get busy and not have time for her.
