  1. Set daily goals for yourself. Also if try to enjoy yourself while you run.

  2. Get a family member or a friend to remind you every day so it feels like your doing it for their benefeit too, or set your phone to remind you.

    Listen to your ipod

Tape up pictures of you running, or really fit people running, on the fridge and doors

  3. Hello,

Running is one of those activities that feels so much better after than before you do it.  I despise the feeling of skipping a workout...that motivates me.  Having a team (XC) is also a helpful motivator.  Try signing up for a summer 5k...the race alone will give you a reason to train.  See the link below for some more motivation.  Hope that helps.

  4. me too :(

    i'm planning on joining xc

i havent been to the practices yet but i think having a bunch of runners to support u will be helpful, and u can try to catch up

this video was motivational for me, b/c of the song:

    u can survive this

Also running will make you tougher and cooler. I can guarentee you that everyone will respect you more if you run. And rememer these things:

Real runners don't listen to their iPods when they run. I did and I don't now...so don't. It makes running easier, therefore defeating the purpose of running

Nobody has ever had a jogger's high!

Jogging is a synonym for half-assed, so do yourself a favor and RUN DON'T JOG!

Find a buddy to run with. It keeps things interesting. Also, run in a nice place. I can't drive so I can't just drive myself somewhere nice to run. I have a street that's a half mile long and that's all I have to train on. So if you can find a nice trail or road to run on. It makes a difference.

  6. Well, to motivate yourself, try to not look at videos of atheletes or professional runners, because you might think "I can never do that" and give up.

Start little by little, try jogging/running outside your area. If you get tired, there's no need to worry. If you can keep that up, day by day, eventually you'll have more endurance and can run longer with more energy.

If you can't run, then jog.

If you can't jog, then walk.

This is about you, not someone else, so try doing everything at your own pace. Also, remember to watch your diet (it helps a lot).

    Good Luck!
