Question:

I hate salad.?

I used to have a salad for a meal every day with some vegetables and dressing to get my veggies but now I have to force it down me.. I hate it so much, but i dont know how else to get my vegetables because im not a huge fan of them either.

What are some easy ways to get your vegetables and what are some ways of hiding vegetables into other foods?

  1. I sneak vegetables into egg omlettes (if you are not a vegan). Also, I make pasta and put veggies in the sauce or also homemade pizza with veggies in the sauce.


  2. WOW!!! You are normal !!! You used to eat lots of salads and now you are burned out on them. This is good. Your body is telling you something and you may not like what it is telling you.

    What is appealing to you to eat?

    Whatever it is, you should eat it or a reasonable facsimile.

  3. Try putting them into fruit smoothies because you barely taste them, making veggie soup, making veggie burgers, putting them in tofu scramble, pureeing them and putting the mixture into muffins or anything you bake (like the cookbook Deceptively Delicious).

  5. Try steaming them. Broccoli is especially good steamed. I dont put anything on them except a little salt.

    There is always vegtable or spinach lasagna. Both are very tasty.

  6. haha i hate salads too...Im a vegetarian, and i only eat salad if I am out at a restraunt ( maybe a friend chose) and there is NOTHING else to eat....I HATE THEM !! I usually get ranch or Fat Free Itallian Dressings, they are quite yummy, try  them out.

    -Just try eating your veggies cooked in all diffrent ways. Stir Fry( broccoli, carrots, onion, mushrooms and soysauce), Raw, Steamed,

    -Spaghetti sauce has lots of veggies in it, sometimes i add cooked broccoli to it.

    -Try lots of veggies ...other than corn and green beans (yuck) I like okra, brussels sprouts, tomato, and cucumber. Dip raw veggies in ranch dressing or creme cheese.

    -Try different salad mixes too. They have spring mix, romane mix, and just regular iceburg mix. I like the spring mix because it has raw spinach in it --yummy!

    -almost forgot, V8 Splash Juice is AMAZING..( i like the mango  one) Its got both veggies and fruit servings in one glass, and you CANNOT taste the veggies..only fruits!

  8. I hate salads too. Going by what most people think the vegan diet consists of, I should technically be dead by now!

    I eat lots of fruit and veggies in my normal meals but for actual salad (leaves etc) which I hate, I just throw them all into a smoothie with lots of other things (eg, raw fruit and veggies, ground nuts and seeds, soymilk, ground cocoa beans, hemp powder, flaxeed etc). You can't taste the salad at all and you can eat more than normal because it gets blended into a small amount of mush. I have one smoothie with lunch and one after dinner so with those along with the other stuff I have at mealtimes, I'm getting over 10 portions of fruit and veg a day :o)

    If you do get into making smoothies I would invest in a Magic Bullet blender. They're so much easier and make the smoothie right in the cup so you don't have lots of washing up to do. They're great for other things too... I'd be lost without mine!

  9. Buy a juicer!!! then you can have little experiments and figure out which combo's taste good. I've made some really good and some really nasty ones.

I drink V8 juice....100% juice.  I also make omelettes and add spinach to them....much easier to tolerate.   First saute some mushrooms, onions, zuchini, and spinach.  Then set those veggies aside and start with your omelette (range free eggs only) and then add your veggies.  Very tasty!   I saw one of the answers that said he hides veggies in his smoothies. I do the same thing.  One other thing:  Saute a bunch of veggies and put them in a tortilla with some vegan cheese and have a wrap , it is so good.  Good luck!
