I hate the street light?

can i tell the city to put a new one on our street?

the one on our street in old and the light is orange

it irritate me

best is to talk to your councilman, or to your public works department.  

if the light is in good working order, it probably wont be a priority to change, however.  but you probably dont know its maintenance and replacement schedule, so never hurts to bring it to the city's attention.

you probably will get further results tho', if there is a safety issue, such as too much or not enough visibility, accident rates, etc.  another method would be to get your neighbours together somehow, and do a presentation or a petition for your city councillor.

or, if you have a neighbourhood association, you should work through that.  you may want to consider this idea:  if you want the light replaced, you offer a way for the neighbourhood to pay for it, the city will probably be more likely to act faster on this action if it doesnt cost the general taxpayer more money.

a few ideas, but dont tamper with the light yourself, as it can create a dangerous situation for you or for drivers.

poor baby....yes you can call the city but i can promise you, they will never even consider spending money on switching out a streetlight because it bothers someone.....good luck though.

to shoot out offending lamps.  This is frequently done in Texas.  It is illegal but offers immediate if short term irritation

relief.

you can do that, but honestly, the orange streetlight isn't the city's top priority to spend money on.

You must consult to your elected ward member and ask him to do so. He will certainlly represent you.

Now a days, CFL lights are popular, ask them to replace the old one with CFL , represent strongly , this will save a large electricity too.

Being a nobal civilian you have rights to represent leagelly also for changing them to CFLs , and contribute for energy saving.

(Further: You seems to be wise enough, be cool and don't get irriated for any means, you can not solve any problem through irritation)

Well you need to gang up to like 15 or 20 kinda like a a petition and go to the treasurer or the mayor and go have a talk

You could just take it out with a sling shot and a rock...then they would have to replace it . ( just kidding ;)

or you could get a shade on your window to block the light.

But I know what you mean I really don't like those orange lights ,grrrrr they're ugly.
