Using an OPK, I detected LH Surge Aug. 11th. We baby danced during my fertile time/ovulation. Today I have felt nauseous and twinges/pulling/slight cramping in lower abdomen. I used an OPK yesterday, and only the control line appeared. This morning two lines appeared which were almost similar in color, yet the test line was slightly lighter. This evening I did another one and the lines were the same color. What does this mean? Do you think I messed up ovulation? I only continued using OPKs because I bought a pack of like 20 and you are supposed to use within 30 days, so I've just continued. Please help...tell me if this happened to you, and if so, what did it mean?

  1. I tried using the OPK's last cycle, and I got so confused, for the same reason you did. I think you should put them down and stop using them. They are just another tool designed to confuse vulnerable women :-P (like me). I had the same thing ~ thought we'd BD on fertile days, tehn took another test a few days later and that showed surge too!!!

Ah well, just came to the end of my TWW, and in to another cycle of TTC

    *****baby dust to you*****

  2. ok if this is a pregnancy test then the two lines mean pregnant no matter how light or dark they are. the test reads your hcg levels and only makes a line if there is hcg present anywhere. hope this helps.

  3. hey we seem to be in the same position. I used the same opks and i was very confused, more so because i'm on my first clomid cycle. I kept getting 2 similar lines but on the 12th my test line was way darker than d control line. It was still dark on the 13 but has steadily declined. Because i have to use all 20, i tested again today and my test line was very light. Please don't give up, since u detected a surge and bd'd as much as you could. I'm peeing a lot and cramping too. Hope you get your bfp  soon

  4. What did you just say..?

  5. hmm im a little confussed it could mean that the ovulation test has picked up a serge and you may be pregnant or for some reason the test is all over the place id say head into your dr for a blood test and if your not buy another brand of ov kits

  6. By any chance Was the brand you use was ALWAYS?

  7. Your pregnant!

OPK's can be used as pregnancy test because the hormones hcg (pregnancy hormone) is a twin to LH.
