  1. they signed Damon so im sure it wouldn't be a problem

but the Yankees are overloaded with outfielders so i dont think they will pay the price he would be asking when they already have outfielders that are almost as good

  2. I doubt the yankees will deal with his attuide.  there more than one team that can get him. in the al.

  3. If you were a lawyer would you want to work for the highest-paying most prestigious law firm? Baseball players are professionals too, so of course Manny would like to play in NY.

And since the Yankees are one of the few teams that can afford Manny's price tag I think there is a chance they can sign him.

I hope they do. Not because I'm a Yankees fan (I'm not) but because I love watching people do dumb senseless things, and I'd love to see all the Yankee fans suddenly defending "Manny being Manny" while all the Red Sox fans, who just two weeks were putting out that same defense, all turn on the man who played such a huge part in finally bringing them a couple of championships.

  4. I think he'll be a Yankee next year...

The Yankees today are a very different team than the one that refused to meet Manny's terms after the 2000 season...That team was coming off a World Series "Three Peat" and Manny was a luxury that they felt they didn't need.

Also, that Yankee team was a real "Torre Team"...quiet, disciplined, hard-working...and Manny's antics would never have fit in.

Although I wouldn't say the Yanks are "desperate," I think the pressure of 7 seasons without a World Series appearance is building.  The more pressure, the more acceptable it will be to take on Manny's attitude and defensive issues.

  5. They certainly could, and probably will.

  6. He grew up just blocks from Yankee Stadium and has said he would like to play for them. When the Red Sox traded him to the Dodgers, my first thought was that he'll finish the rest of this season in L.A. and then put on pinstripes next season. There's little doubt in my mind that Manny will be a Yankee at some point before he retires. I hope the Dodgers resign him so I don't have to see that happen. But it would never surprise me to see the Yankees as major players in the Manny sweepstakes once the season is over.

  7. I can't see the Yankees signing him but you never know. He would be a great DH.
