Just curious. Were you raised that way? Did you research it? See a documentary on Discovery Channel?

  1. After many years of study and reflection, I chose my faith. I am a Christion free of religion (C-FOR ). No, I was not raise along these beliefs. Thanks for asking and have a nice day!

  2. From studying and learning about various beliefs, and finding out that Christianity had a lot of evidence proving it to be true. I was raised in a Christian home, but with very different doctrines that I know accept.

  3. i read the bible cover-to-cover, prayed asking for guidance, fasted about it. then i studied every facet of the doctrine i felt god leading me to. i am a united pentecostal. i was raised in the church of christ, huge difference!

  4. My parents had no use for religion so it wasn't until I was twenty before I heard the gospel. At first I didn't believe it, not did I want to believe it.

So, I set out to prove the whole thing was garbage.

I said the sinner's prayer just to show everyone including myself that it meant nothing at all. I mean seriously, how could Jesus come into my heart? But to my shock, I found my self thinking new ideas, like I didn't have to argue with everyone, I didn't have to prove I was right all the time just to feel good about myself.

It still took roughly five years of testing and even tempting God, but now I can say with absolute certainty that God is real, and Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

  5. My mother was raised with it, my father converted so that my mother would love him, and i was raised christian, but converted to atheism at 13.

  6. I was lucky to be raised by caring Christian parents.  I was intrigued by what I saw in them, and the example of the life that they lived, and I became baptised.  I didn't change immediately, and it wasn't until years later that I came to understand the depth of my commitment.  Over time, God became more real to me.  As a logical person, I have also run my own logic tests on what I believe, and it has proved internally consistent.  Now, God speaks to me (for real), I see miracles happen in my church, I see how God changes lives all around me, and it is just a real experience.  There is so great a cloud of witness surrounding me, so many things I have seen happen that I could never be anything other than a servant of God.

Bottom line: God works in different ways in different people's lives.  But He will work once you give him a chance in your life.  I am not saying that everyone has my experience, but God gives each person his/her own experience.
