I hate to say it but I think the Angels have the best shot at winning the World Series. Do you agree?

Yeah, they are definitely the team to beat.  They have a great record on the road (31-18)--  the only team with a winning record on the road and the best record in baseball, a strong pitching staff and a solid line-up top to bottom.

I have said, thought, since beginning of the season that Angels have best team, and no doubt, to this point, they surely do. For most part pitching wins series, and clearly of the contending teams, Angels have best staff. Red Sox SP are too erratic, and Yanks are in dire need of SP to help Mussina and even Ponson. Rays however have showed consistency throuhg out this season with the SP and ranked in top 5. Could be The Cinderella. IN NL, with pitching in mind, Brewers have best bet. Offensively, more so Cubbies. This is The Angels year, but at same time Cubs, with the lack of consistent competition, could prove to be Series winners and what they been yearning for oh so long.

Why hate it?

All the so-called baseball experts say that 75% of winning baseball is pitching.

The Angels have great pitching.

Will they win the WS? Who knows? First of all, you have to get to the WS. AND (see below)

Any team that wins the WS has to either outscore the opposition or shut them out every game.

So why did a great pitching star (Babe Ruth) turn himself into the greatest slugger that baseball has ever known?

Because the most runs runs scored in any given game, by a team, wins ballgames.

As good a shot as any other contender..my only concern about them is that in baseball winning the World Series requires certain intangibles(chemistry, veteran leadership..etc) qualities That teams like the Red Sox have but I'm not sure if the Angels do.  I wonder how some of their younger plays will deal with the pressure and attetion of October baseball

yeah, being on the west coast, most easterners don't get to see them much (aside from night owls and the esteemed answerers here), but yeah, they are gonna be tough in the playoffs and yes, their manager (scoscia) is one of the best. And not being an angel fan, thank you, cannonball, for forcing me (us?) to be honest and admit they are definitely a force to be reckoned with. On behalf of every non angels fan, thank you, thank you very much. (lol).
