I'm teaching this summer for an internship/summer job in summer school, it starts at 8:30 and I have to be there @ 7:30am. Which means I have to wake up at like 6-6:30, i did ok the 1st 2 days but them I'd start sleeping till the last possible min. I go to bed as early as i can like 9:45-10:30 depending on how much I hve to get ready for the next day, adn i have 6 alarms on my phone set, and one all the way across the room but i still get back in bed and go back to sleep after i turn them off. I dn't kno how to not do that, and I'm so tired, I'm gona be wiped out by the end of summer! What do i do!?my classes in college start at like 10 and i'm fine getting up then (around 8) but when their at 8 it's like the same thing, wake up at last pos. min.

Thanks in advance!

  1. It'll take awhile for your body to get used to the early hours; I'd say just keep trying.

One thing you should do is get EVERYTHING ready the night before, so you just have to pick it up and dash.

Second, and this sounds counterintuitive, but try getting up a little earlier, and doing 10 minutes of exercise or stretches. Even bed stretches count. The exercise will help you wake up.

If you are exercising in the evening, stop. Schedule it for earlier in the day. Also, cut out your caffeine after 3 p.m. You can treat yourself to extra caffeine in the morning. Make sure you are eating properly.

And remind yourself, it's only for the summer. If you concentrate on getting up one day at a time, you might feel more motivated than if you think "Oh, I've got to get up early for weeks!!"

Finally, try not to stay up too late on the weekends.

Good luck with it. I used to be a night owl, but these days, I'm more of a morning lark. I got up at 6 this morning.

  2. It takes for your body clock to adjust. The human body runs on a dircadian rhythmn which is about 24 1/2 hours.

What this means? The human body perceives a 24 hour period to be slightly longer than what it realy is, thus it is vital to start a routine, and keep resetting the body clock. Try get atleast 8 hours a sleep a night.

Also, avoid turning on bright lights before you goto bed, watching tv or exercising too much before bed. These things can all upset your body clock.

Finally, try setting your alarm 20 minutes earlier than when your trying to wake up. Just hit snooze if you cant get up, this way, you get a sleep in and your not late either.

Also, try set another alarm on the other side of the room, so you have to get up to reset it.

Dont drink caffene before bed... just simple things like that. Also, dont dp your work in bed - this can generate a negative stigma with the area, and you begin to associate the bed with the stresses of teaching. Designate a work area and leave the bed for what its designed for.

    Hope this helps

  3. i had 8 o'clock classes last semester.   i found it best when i started a routine.

i would get up, shower, clean my room, and eat breakfast.  i found the shower really helped, having a clean room made me feel like i acomplished something in the morning, and eating breakfast gave me energy

  4. First of all, make sure you have EVERYTHING ready to go for the morning BEFORE you go to bed. Put your bag by the front door, lay out your clothes, set the coffee pot if you drink coffee,etc... That way all you have to do is jump in the shower, get dressed, grab breakfast, and you are out the door.

I know it sounds kind of dorky, but play a little game with yourself. If you can get yourself up in time then you get a little reward. If you can get yourself up and out of the house by a set time for "x" out the 5 days you can buy yourself dinner, a new pair of shoes, or something else you want. Don't give in to yourself unless you meet your goal.

    Good luck!

  5. When you are a teacher you are a model of idols so you have to give up your bad habits like get time to bed. Try a week or a month for improvement I think you will do your job. When you will cover your time for better doing in job you will get a interest. After few month you invent your self as a good teacher and a Ideal man/woman.

  6. please don't take this personally but if you knew that you don't like to wake up early why did you take the job in the first place?

and just keep waking up at 6:30 your body will get used to it eventually. if that does not work drink a lot of coffee i guess (but thats not good either)

    i hope i somewhat helped.
