  1. yes

  2. DON'T DO IT.

For a start, they'll FIGHT and may kill each other before they even mate.

Secondly, we don't need anymore baby hamsters in this world from a clearly illeducated owner.

  3. Syrian hamsters are very solitary and territorial and are known for vicious fighting when in the same cage. Breeding syrian hamsters is a complicated procedure and it better done in the hands of experienced breeders, becoz it has to follow a certain procedure and the male and female should not be in one cage for long since they can kill each other. Hence I would advise you to refrain from breeding them for their own good unless you know a professional hamster breeder with loads of experience who can guide you on breeding your two syrian hamsters.

  4. Please don't breed two different hamsters together. You don't want to because when you breed two different breeds together they may fight instead of breed. If you want to breed hamsters breed the same breed together. example golden with golden

  5. Pet Store hamsters should never be bred.

Syrian breeding should only be done by an experienced breeder, since the personality is so territorial, they can kill each other.

Pet Store hamsters have often been inbred and that will show up in the babies as missing limbs, organs, or eyes.

    IF you insist:

Do you have a small animal vet and funding in case the pregnancy or birth goes wrong? Or if one severely injures the other?

Do you know both of their medical histories? Pet store hamsters should not be bred, as you don't know their family history with defects or injuries. The hamsters you have now may even be inbred.

If you got them from a breeder, call and ask the breeder's advice.

Are you planning to keep the babies or adopt them out?

If you are planning on keeping them, you need to get enough living spaces for them- new cages, etc.

If you are going to adopt them out, you should have enough homes BEFORE the babies are conceived.

    How old is the female?

If she gives birth and decides she isn't ready, she will eat her babies. Same if she is too old. Anything over 4 months is too old to be bred for the first time.

The male needs to either not be housed with her during the pregnancy, or removed IMMEDIATELY after the babies are born, or he will impregnate her within minutes or hours or birth, that's how hamsters work.

Do you know enough not to try and change the bedding for a week or so after the babies are born, so as not to upset the mom? If they smell like humans, she will eat them.

That is a lot to think about and do research into.

  6. Ok I had a similar problem. I bought from a pet store what I thought was 2 girls turns out I was wrong. I ahd one boy and one girl. She got pregnat twice and after that she wanted nothing to do with the male. She would scratch him and tried to kill him (some females do). I would say dont breed but if you must here are some tips. As soon as she gets pregnat with a liter take the male out and into a second cage! Unless you want him to die which im sure you dont. And do not touch the babies if you touch them the mother will not want anything todo with them. Also If you have been feeding your female meat such as chicken or ham or beef do not breed her. She might eat her babies alive! So be careful keep a sharp watch on her. Also do not sell the babies until their eyes are open and they have hair otherwise they could die from being away from their mother.

  7. we breeded to different types of hamster together and one was calm as the other was not so calm . and it has came out good...so far . what i would suggest is to make sure they have seperate cages .let them meat , then seperate them .  and when the female goes in heat put the male in the cage and if you want to nudge him on top of her just a little . after they have done it several times and she is out of heat seperate them . then if she doesnt go back in heat in the next four days she is pregnant . and just so you know they most likely wont turn out solid colors they will have patches of all the different colors . well hope that helped . good luck !
