First of all....Congratulations

I myself being in Jadavpur University 2nd yr....I can tell you that before considering any such questions you must keep in mind the fact that this time wbjee was a allowed only for state residents(and tripura ppl too!!) and not for everybody in India

Hence....dont go for 2007 opening and closing ranks.

Expect all the closing ranks to go higher up the ladder....much higher.

With your rank you can expect civil(if you r lucky) or metallurgy in ju

You can also expect civil(realistic) in shibpur

Make a list of your preferences before going to the counselling(if you go that is)

Anyways....dont depend much on these things....ultimately you have to decide on th spot according to the situation there on the counselling day.
