Ok, I have been thinking about going back to college to get an Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant. It will take me 18-24 months to get it. My girls are about 10 months old now, and I'm not really feeling a lot of support from family. They want me to go back, but I don't think they think I can handle it and finish. I've already been accepted, I got in no problem, and I just have to go back to feel out paper work. I think I can do it, but it bothers me that they don't.

Do ya'll think I can I'm crazy for wanting to do this?

  1. Yeah, you are. But then again, the ones that have made the most awesome changes in history were often viewed as crazy by people in their time.

I knew of a mother who got her medical degree, even when her husband didn't give her permission. She would take her baby to school sometimes and hid her homeworks and such. I don't know how she managed to keep it a secret, but she did and is now more successful than her now exhusband. After a few months, show them your enthusiasm and your progress, and they will start believing in you.

    The best of luck.

  2. I think if you have really thought it all though and you think you can do it, go for it. Your girls are so young and this time with them now is really important so be sure you can balance time with them (taking care of them and quality time) with your classes (and everything that comes with them such as homework, midterms, finals, projects). If you really think you can do it, great! It will create a better quality of life for you in the long run.
