  1. sorry but one cannot dilute UP that is one cannot make a more concentrated solution from a less concentrated solution by dilution.

    0.5 M = 500 mM so it is 5X more concentrated than your "starting " concentration. Check the question again and be sure the numbers are correct


  2. As other have said, this is impossible as written. However, I'll assume that rather than giving us an impossible problem you have made a mistake. The most likely mistake is the target concentration; could you mean 0.5 mM? In this case you need to dilute 200-fold from 100 mM to get to 0.5 mM. You could take 1 ml of your stock solution and make it up to 200 ml (i.e. add 199 ml) with water.

  3. You can't!

    0.5 M EDTA is the same thing as 500 mM EDTA. You can't dilute 100mM to 500!!!
