Question:

I have 2 12" Kicker Comps and a Rockford P550 amp pushing them.My amp will fade in and out. Wat does that mean?

I also have a boost bass control which does not work that much either. If I do need to replace it, what wattage should i look for.?

  1. your car's electrical system may not be able to handle the system you've got installed.  It depends on the car but especially w/ smaller or foreign cars, you run into that alot.  

    the fix is pretty simple.. either go w/ a bigger "deep cycle" battery (if possible) or install a capacitor near the amp... basically it's a secondary unit that holds power.  When the car's electrical system gets low it kicks in extra power to fill in the "gap"


  2. your subs are probably blown and the amp is going in and out of protection

  3. It sounds like you're not getting enough power. First, check you're connections. Make sure you have a good ground. If that's not it, then upgrade the power and ground wires, and get a capacitor. (The cap is just like another battery and it will store power so there is enough to power all the electronics in the vehicle). If nothing else works get a new amp.
