I have 2 Alpine SWR-1222D (type R), what amp will power these?

I have 2 Alpine SWR-1222D (type R) subs, what ampifiler will power these to their RMS rating? It is dua voice coil with 2 ohms each, with a 500 RMS rating. I am having a hard time finding a strait answer.

two dual 2ohm subs...wire series then parallel to amp for a 2ohm load.  Get a 1000w@2ohm amplifier.  Or the mpre expensive route is finding an amp pushing 1000w@.5ohms and wire the subs parallel parallel

I'm probably going to get the same set up as you soon.  But i've been told that a mono D class amp at 1000 watts wired in parallel will push the subs at exactly 500 watts each. Look for any amp that is 1ohm mono D class at 1000 watts.
