  1. I spent $170.00 at the vet's because I fed my dog off the table foods. Their pancreas can't process dairy foods. If you really need reassurance call the vet and ask them.

  2. You should avoid giving your chihuahuas any dairy products. Most dogs and cats do not have enough amounts of the enzyme lactase, which are things that break down the lactose in milk. This can result in diarrhea and stomach problems. Lactose-free milk products are available for pets. Good luck, hope I helped :)

  3. I grew up with dogs and I have never seen a dog that didn't like to eat cheese. I have never seen any evidence that it was bad for them.

If you aren't sure, ask your vet.

Chocolate, raisins and macadamia nuts are supposed to be bad for dogs.

  4. Go back to school and learn Spelling ...

  5. Occasional cheese wouldn't hurt your dogs.

Two things you should never give them is Chocolate, it could be toxic to them.  The second is onions.  Onions cause anemia in dogs.

  6. a little is ok.  but no too mcuh b/c it makes them constipated.

  7. nooo dairy is extremely bad for any animals especiallyy dogs stop asap

  8. no dogs cannot digest dairy properly....they may like it...but than again dogs l**k their own butts so they are not too picky on what goes in their mouths...so stop feeding them cheese....that is if chiuaja's are Chihuahuas.

  9. yes u can give it to them as long as it isnt like everyday..

just make sure they dont get ahold of things like onions, chocolate (of course), and raw meat

unless u see signs that they get sick then it is fine.. it just depends on the dog's digestive system

  10. Haha! My dog (also chihuahua) loves cheese, but I don't give it to her a lot because it clogs the colon, causes mucus build up, etc.

  11. First off, you should be asking this in the Pets section, not in Vegetarian and Vegan, because most of the people in here have a bias against dairy products.

Second, it's probably a question you should ask the vet anyway.

Third, I know plenty of dogs that love cheese and have never been harmed by it.  My friend gives even her little delicate Yorkie with the sensitive tummy cheese every now and then.  She loves it.

  12. Um, I think it dulls their sense of smell or something like that.

But that's probably not right, I just picked that up in some book that I read. :)

  13. i heard that dairy isn't good for dogs.. but I could be wrong

I know most of us think of our pets as family, but it's important to remember that their systems don't work like ours. It's best to keep to treats that are formulated just for them.

  15. no. a dog's digestive system isn't the same as a humans. that could potentially hurt them.

  16. not sure what you are feeding the string cheese to, but you should be eating it yourself.

Yes! I give my dogs chihuahua and sheltie cheese, milk, milk gravy and other things like that. They love it. But my chi is very allergic to most people foods and breaks out in hives and loses her hair!!

  17. Ask this in DOGS.
