I have 2 MTX Jackhammers in a dual enclosure what amp should i get to get pounding bass?

  1. Well if you want to stay with MTX and the jackhammer series you could run a JH600, it would give you 600 (RMS), or 10.21 Gigawatts if your talking the absolutely non related peak power numbers.

    To find a matching amplifier, you want to find an amp that can match the (RMS) rating of the subwoofers, which looks to be between 250-500 watts RMS, and they say that the box is wired to provide a 2 ohm impedance to an amplifier that you connect.

    So you are looking for an amp that can put out 250-500 Watts RMS @ 2ohm's. A mono amp would be your best choice in my opinion since they will have a subsonic filter to block the frequencies below the tuning frequency of the box. Thats probably over your head at this moment, but if you want your stereo to sound good and actually understand what your looking for so you spend your hard earned money wisely, I would suggest doing some research into the electrical theory's and terms surrounding car audio, heres an excellent start.   www.bcae1.com , almost every question you may have will be answered on the right hand column.
