I called an exterminator and they want $120.00 to put ant baits. I know I can buy my my own baits but that takes to long. Any suggestions for a quick remedy.

  1. Cover the anthill with any of the following to get rid of the ants:

    ground cinnamon

    dry cornmeal

dry grits (not quick or instant)

boiling water (this might kill grass around it, though)

    soapy water

    Hope this helps!

  2. You can pour half a cup of gasoline into it.

  3. Poor grits on the aint hills. They will carry them to their home then feed them all. Thats when the grits swell.I"ve done it it works

  4. I got rid of some ants once before, this is what I did, I used

a shovel to dig out the ant nest. But they wern't the deadly

types, because their are some really mean ones out there.

Be sure to know what type your dealing with before going

for the shovel. Thank you, the "BUTTMAN"

  5. I have a garden and when ants (fire ants) show up I put instant grits around the ant hill. The queen eat the grits and dies as they swell within her. The ants then leave. I do the same if they show up in the lawn. As for sugar ants get a small piece of masking tape, boric acid and mint jelly. Make a small ring with the tape so it sticks on both sides.Mix boric  acid with mint jelly and add dab to top of masking tape. Place in area with the problem. I learned this one about the boric acid from an exterminator. P.S. boric acid may be purchased at your pharmacy for a very small cost. Keep boric acid to back of or behind things so children don't touch. Keep this in mind for pets as well....
