I have 2 cats that recently keep pooping on my carpet! any ideas to try to get them to stop?

Could be health related, inflammatory bowel disease comes to mind.. please have them checked out! GOOD LUCK

make sure you clean the litter EVERYDAY!! and also rub their feet in it and pick up the p**p and put it in the litter to show them where to go. if the floor is dirty they will p**p there too. cats are clean animals.

try putting your litter box in an open area where they can see it...

maybe there are certain areas some other animal did their business and the cats are just wanting their territory back...

Teach them how to use a litter box.

i know that some cats are picky about the amount/cleanliness of their litter.  if their box hasn't been cleaned recently or doesn't have enough litter, they're going to continue to use your floor instead of the litter box!  if this problem has been going on for awhile, you may want to re-introduce them to the litter box (sorry, couldn't think of a better term), or treat them when they use it.

Have they done this before? If this is not normal behavior, I would consult a veterinarian; they may have picked up a parasite that causes abnormal bowel movement.  If it IS normal, perhaps try talking to an animal trainer.

same thing happen to mine just try and put them in the litter every once and a while they aren't use to it yet i guess they will get use to it and gio in the litter
