Question:

I have 2 central ac units but only 1 is condensing water why?

My 2 units are in the attic one is dripping almost no water but the other is dripping a lot.I keep my a/cs at 80 degrees and I never seem this much condensation on this unit. By the way my home is in Houston TX ( High humidity an really hot)

  1. its likely that one of your a/c's is evaporating the water  


  2. If these are split systems, I would suspect one is either dirty, or low on refrigerant. Time for the serviceman.  

  3. Could be one is servicing a higher humidity area.

    It may have an incorrect refrigerant charge or possibly the airflow is too high.

    It would be worth having it checked out, it may cost you more in energy than what it would cost to have it corrected.

    Check the supply and return temperatures, there should be a 15 to 20 degrees F difference.
