The other dog is a German Short-haired Pointer and he is getting older and is used to be the only dog in the house. Ever since the young Jack Russell started living here, Sawyer (The German short-haired pointer), does not let Sparky (The Jack Russell), eat when he eats, lay down on the same couch, or on the floor close to each other. And when ever Sparky goes pottey in the house Sawyer does the same thing now. Sawyer use to only go to the bathroom outside. They also get into a lot of fights. They fight when there is only one bone to chew. And Sawyer sometimes, like sit on Sparky and tries to bite him! Sparky once got bit behind the ear and on the paw. Sparky has parasites in his p**p, so every time he goes p**p, we have to pick it up or Sawyer might get it too. Sparky is bowlegged in some of his legs, and we can't afford surgery. So, once in a while he limps on one or two legs. And usually when he stands still he lifts one leg up a little. Sawyer is not a gentle dog so he gets mad when sparky tries to bit his ears. And for some reason Sparky always tries to bite Sawyers legs. How can I make then stop getting into fights, make Sparky and Sawyer only eat their food, not go to the bathroom in the house, and to make Sparky stop biting Sawyer. I also need a way to discipline them both.

  1. Correction: Well not good. Anywho, you should train them like you would anyother dog, regardless of any inguries and so forth. If you really need special help, find a pro dog trainer in your area.

  2. Potty Training

my dog did that so what we did is let or dog outside like twice or three time in a hour so he would get use to going outside, and when we had to leave to go some were we would put him in his cage. that teaches them to hold it until you let him out. also dont leave there food out all night cause they will eat it when your sleeping and then p**p in the house. take the food away at about 7:00. and every time he poops in the house tell he he was a bad boy and put him in a time out if you have a cage put them in a cage.

                                           Eating

i have the same problem with my two dogs. what we did is put there food in two differeent rooms. and we would try to put them together  for a couple of minutes of course they my older dog didn't like it but started getting used to the fact that my other dog was going to stay. then after a couple of weeks we put there food bolws together now there getting along.

                                     Toys

Buy them about three or four bones and other toys so that they both have a toy to play with and if a gets lost you have another one so they dont fight.

Spend some time with one and then with another. your older dog is just jealous and thinks you willforget him some some time with only him and he will soon get better.

  3. Feed them in separate rooms. Do not leave bowls out that they can fight over.

If there is only one bone, neither of them should get it.

I would not allow the bigger dog to sit on the lil dog,, it is a dominance thing.

Everytime Sparky bites the other dog grab his mouth and squeeze and tell him no bite. Every time he goes back to jump on the other dog stop him and make him go lay down.

Pick up the p**p and take it and the dog out in the yard.

You need to get onto him whenever you catch him going to the bathroom in the house.

Your other dog is jealous because he is no longer the only one..you need to let him know that he is not the boss of Sparky you are.

  4. the best way?

    get shock colars

might sound cruel, but that situation is in need for them

  5. smack them when they poo in the house them put there face in it and sat no no

  6. First of all,

    ---------------Potty training

For my pup, we laid out piddle pad in the dining room and the living room (or a couple pieces of newspaper). When he went on the piddle pad and NOT the floor, we have him a treat and said good boy.. after he finally only went on the piddle pad, we took one away, and put the other near the door, and left it open (with the screen) so he knows where to go if he needs to go potty. he did very well, and once we took all piddle pads away, he would sit at the door and scratch if he needed to go! worked great!!

    --------------fighting

when they start getting into fights, say NO, BAD DOGS, NO TREATS. you have to say that EVERY time, so they catch on that you don't like it. also, when they do something bad, tap their bum.. not hard, just a little tap so they know what its like. also when they don't fight and get along, give them treats.

    ------------Some tips

-give your pets more toys and 2 beds of the same kind. (you can get these items cheap at dollar general or any other store!)

-take them on their walks separate. (LONG WALKS)

-pay equal attention to BOTH pets.. Dogs get very jealous!
