I have 2 dwarf lemon trees that are at least 3-4 years old. ?

they have never flowered.are they suppose to take that long. i have them in pots. i live in the middle part of south carolina. what am i doing wrong?

My daughter-in-law has these in Australia. They are in semi-shade, they get afternoon sun (at its peak) for a short period only.

There are flowering bushes/shrubs nearby - which will attract bees.

She does suffer with huge caterpillars which she has to remove daily during season.
