Question:

I have 2 felony convictions 1 for burglary and 1 for grand larceny i'm off parole can i get a passport and how

I just want to know if it's possible for me to obtain a passport, I have been told yes from some and no from others. please advise thanks.

  1. you may be able too, check with a travel agency or post office for the necessary paperwork. go to unitedstates.gov for more info


  2. You might get a passport; what you are unlikely to get is entry into another country. Very few reputable countries would welcome someone with your criminal background.

    (Unless you are thinking of going to Libya, Iran or Syria - but take care, in those countries, they reward burgulars with their severed hand in a paper bag!)

  3. Convicted felons are not allowed to have permanent US Passports.  You are allowed to travel internationally if you can furnish the State Department with evidence you have legitimate business in a foreign country (and the foreign country knows you're a felon).  Music artists do this all the time, so its not impossible to travel internationally, but you cannot have a permanent passport ...

    Especially if you're on parole the answer is going to be a resounding "NO."  While you are on parole you're not even supposed to leave your home state let alone the country, and I'm pretty sure even filing for a passport would be a violation of your parole.
