One painting is of Roses in a vase....while the other is of Daisy's in a vase. Numbered 130880 & 130881 by an artist with the last name "Isaac". They were purchased in 1982 for $50 each.

  1. I HOPE YOU FIND OUT A ANSWER AND I WOULD BE INTERESTED TO KNOW WHAT IT IS MYSELF

  2. Artistic Interiors sounds like a decorating shop or maybe a party-type plan like "Home Interiors."  Your florals are most likely prints, if you paid $50 and they are worth no more than you can get at a yard sale, most likely.  Fine art usually does not find its way into decorating shops, and if it does, it would be more expensive and would likely be found in an exclusive boutique.

The numbers are a dead give-away. . . they are inventory numbers so customers can order them and know what they are getting.  Sorry I couldn't deliver better news, but you are not in possession of fine art,  just reproductions , or at best, reproductions with some texturizing or brush-stroke added to make it look hand painted. . . .

  3. They are strictly "decorative" paintings, with little cash value. Art bought form furniture stores and interior decorators doesn't appreciate in value and is not investment-quality art.

As someone else mentioned, they might not even be paintings, but prints on canvas with texturizing medium applied to look like brushstrokes, or a few strokes of paint dabbed on to complete the illusion.

And if they are original paintings, they are more than likely the sort of thing that "Isaac" cranked out by the dozens--there are painters who make their livings turning out nearly-identical paintings (mostly landscapes and florals), one after the other.

  4. A price that low from what I presume to be a gallery? Don't be too surprised if their principal value is not clashing with your upholstery, or they may have appreciated 1000%. I'll bet that the artist is local, so I'd try the gallery (if they still exist) or other galleries in the area. A search by goodsearch.com (better than google, which is too broad, or metacrawler.com might respond o a keyword search such as painter Isaac Ft. Lauderdale.  Those paintings belong in a category called "still lifes," by the way.
