I have 2 hamsters but one is very active and the other isnt?

i was wondering why my other hamster isnt so active. she gets up and eats + drinks but isnt on her wheel so much. i dont know what age they are as i adopted them.

Hamsters have different personalities and she is probably more inclined to be less active by her nature.  As they get older hamsters slow down the same as humans, and take part in more sedate past-times!  She may have reached that stage where the easy life seems better.

Don't worry too much, if you notice any difference in her behaviour or condition then obviously contact your vet.

hamsters can be funny like that sometimes.  they can have periods of activity or periods of just being lazy for a while and sleeping a lot.  sometimes if they are older they will sleep more too.  it's possible she is out and about when you are sleeping as well since they can be more active at night.  i would just keep an eye on her.  if her coat looks healthy and shiny with a healthly looking weight, chances are she is just content to be a sleepyhead.

I have two hamsters and the older one isnt very active in her cage although she likes her ball. Dont forget they are nocturnal so the quiet one might be getting all of its exercise in whilst you are asleep!

i just adopted a hamster called bell and then found out it was a boy so i named it fudge i found that he never goes on his wheel and my old hamster did i think it just might mean that they have different types of personality's it isn't anything to worry about because my hamster is perfectly healthy, just make sure she gets exercise in some kind of way maybe by putting her in her wheel but only for ten minutes because she'll get to tired or by buying her a playpen is also good exercise for her.

How long have you had them? If you havn't had them very long just give them time to settle in and don't forget they are nocturnal animals. Are they in the same cage together. The one could be bullying the other.

my hamster i just got him like 4 days ago and he was hyper for the first few days but now he lieks to sleep he is still young and babies do need to sleep but when he wants to be he can be very hyper.....your hamster will be fine it just seems lazy

That's really sweet adopting them :)

My hamster was like that and she was very old, she had cancer, then my other hamster was lazy and died after 6 months, he had a good life though.
