  1. how many gal's 6+ yes( goldfish need 3 gal's per in) 5- no and you need a strong filter 5x time stronger than then your tank size

  2. Not comfortably and not for very long. Goldfish, depending on the breed, can get to be 6 to 12 inches in size! They don't stay small. The myth that goldfish grow to the size of their environment is false. They may stop growing in size but their organs and spine keep growing and they become stunted. When this happens the fish are in pain. Goldfish also make a lot of waste! They are a carp relative, they make lots of ammonia and f***s. One goldfish needs 20 gallons at minimum to live and each additional fish needs 10 gallons. Without proper filtration they will choke to death on their own waste.  The people at the pet store will tell you it is okay to put a fish in a bowl because they see SUCKER across your forehead. They know a fish won't live long in a bowl and you'll be back to buy another fish once this one dies. Or when you figure out that your fish needs a nice big aquarium with a filter, substrate, plants,  and decorations.

  3. Not for long. They will grow big. They need 20 gallons as a minimum and good filtration. Goldfish are messy, messy critters. Bowls are for soup. Aquariums are for fish.

  4. no they need 50 gallons for the first and 20 for each additional

if there a fancy kind they need 20 for the first and 10 for each additional

it should be fine if you have a 50 gallon bowl with an airpump and filter

  5. No. If you love your goldfish you WILL get them out of there.

  6. NO! Goldfish get 6-8 inches and need 10 gallons...each. A 20 gallon tank is minimum but 30 or 40 gallons is best if you really want to see them reach there full potential.

  7. NO.

Small goldfish do NOT stay small! They will grow, potentially several inches within the year, but not in a bowl. They'll die before they grow in a bowl.

An air pump does nothing for the water quality, it will still go rotten within 24 hours, and daily water changes will stress the fish out.

Get the 2 goldfish a 25-30 US gallon fully cycled, over filtered, highly oxygenated tank or take them back to the store.

  8. How small of a bowl? Goldfish tend to get pretty big pretty quickly, and if they grow up in a really small environment, they could become stressed, and it causes them health issues. You may want to looking into getting another bowl, and having them both separated, so they have enough room, if getting say, a 10 gallon tank isn't an option for you.
