I have only gotten a few blooms on these plants and in past years they were loaded with blossoms. I live in the Pittsburgh, PA area. What am I doing wrong. I water regularly, and fertize at least twice a month.

  1. That is your problem..Hibiscus bloom under stress and need the soil to go completely dry inbetween waterings..also the fertilizer..You are more than likely giving them a high nitrogen fertilizer which will give you all leaves and no blooms..You do not fertilize hibiscus too often either..I will post this and find you some info on this..On this link notice how it says to let the top of the soil go dry...Stress them some to make them bloom..also notice on this the proper fertilizer for them..the first number is a zero...IT REQUIRES NO NITROGEN..the first number is nitrogen , for example, all purpose miracle grow is so high in nitrogen you wouldn't get a bloom out of them using this regularly..or any other nitrogen fertilizer..

  2. ferlilize less and dont water if it isnt very warm. check for bugs and also if tropical should be cut back a little when bought inside. this keeps the plant from flowering so it rests for the next summer.  if it is one of the perennial hibiscus that come up every year then make sure the soil has good dranage and sometimes if you have a cold winter they arent as good in blooming the next summer.
