Is it bad? I went to the eye doctor today and that is what she said I had. I have never worn glasses (I have been perscribed them today.) I am plundered because just two years ago I had 20/20 vision. Can something be wrong?

  1. Do a search for "Bates method".

  2. 20 20 is great vision

  3. maybe u misunderstood them and it is really 20 20

  4. This type of change can happen in two years time if you are a young person, i.e. teenager.  Generally it is good old-fashioned near-sightedness and not a disease.  It does not mean you are going to go blind.  I assume you corrected to 20/20 in the doctor's office with her lenses?  If you only see 20/200 even with correction, then it's a problem.  I'm sure if there was reason for alarm your doctor would have been more forthcoming with the information.  If you have questions, do not hesitate to call her.  She'll be happy to put your mind at ease.

  5. 20/200 means that you can see at 20 feet what the "normal" person can see at 200 feet.  I'd say it's a moderate refractive error.  This can easily be corrected to 20/20 with glasses or contacts, though.  If you had a complete eye exam, I wouldn't be too worried.  Vision can change significantly over a few years, and when it first changes it is hard to notice sometimes.  Once you get your glasses, maybe you will notice the difference.  If not, talk to your doctor again.  Hope this helps.  :)

  6. 20/200 vision means that you could only see an object clearly from 20 meters distance compare to a normal sight 200 meters. You definitely should wear eye glasses.

  7. 20/200 is VERY bad.In California, you can't even get a drivers license if your vision is worse than that.I am surprised you have never worn glasses before with that vision count.I have a friend who has the same vision count and she's told me that anytime she goes to the eye doctor and they tell her to read the chart, she tells them "What chart?",meaning she can't even see it.

  8. hhmm...well were you able to drive yourself to the doctor? i ask this because 20/200 with correction in the better eye means legally blind. but don't panic...if you were able to drive yourself safely and can read the newspaper an arms length away..then there most likely was a misunderstanding. go back to your doctor or call them to verify what you heard. as long as you are able to read the 20/20 line on the chart WITH your glasses, your perfectly fine! if i were you, i'd definetly call just to be safe and make sure its all good. hope this helps and good luck!! :)

  9. That is great! 20/20 vison is good not bad
