  1. What?! How could YOU have had a "very smart.and very active kid,"?

  2. maybe you're the one who needs to go back to school..........its spelled challenging by the way

  3. huh? when you learn how to spell repost the question, actually why don't you ahve your "sone" do it for you, i'm sure he knows how to spell better.

  4. Absolutely.  I enrolled my young daughters in a private school at 3 and 4 years old.  The sooner you can start their education (as long as you can afford it) the better.  Today's world is too challenging to let them fall behind.  My now 5 year old girl is reading...before Kindergarten!  Worth every penny...

By the way...your spelling would leave me to think you may be deaf?  Deaf people are the worst spellers!  I am not trying to insult you, it's just my experience with deaf people.

  5. Depends on what you mean by "challenging."  Many schools are hard and parents consider that challenging.  In reality, they're just not teaching things well.  As an example from many of our lives, think of how difficult it was to learn math.  We sit in class and memorize that

    (a+b+c)^3  =

    a^3 + 3b(a^2) + 3c(a^2) + b^3 + 3a(b^2) + 3c(b^2) + c^3 + 3a(c^2) + 3b(c^2) + 6abc

Yet we were not taught any connection as to what, exactly, that means other than if we take (a+b+c) and multiply it out, we get that answer.  We're never shown it as a cube, never taught how to take it apart and measure it, and never shown how it all fits together as a cube.

Similar things happen in preschool/kindergarten (obviously not with that equation).  Students are often shown things that are challenging because they're not presented well.

You want a school that challenges your children on the level of desiring to learn.  So choose carefully. :)

  6. :-)  I do have to smile about the comments regarding your spelling :-) May want to think on it a bit!

You have a 3 year old son and a 5 year old son?  They definately would benefit from a preschool program prior to Kindergarten.  Though your 5 year old son may already be there?  I'm confused.  Sorry.  I'll just assume it was a typo on your part.  :-)  A three year old active and smart child.  Any 3 year old child would benefit from a quality preschool program.  Remember that though preschool does work with cognitive development...it isn't it's primary focus.  They tend to focus on the "whole child" and cognitive is just section of the "whole child" so he may not develop much more in that area if he is really "smart".  But socially he will definately benefit and a plus for you... it will give you a "break" from his activity and you wouldn't feel as bad because he will be in an educational setting.  Good luck in your decision making.

Edit:  It just clicked LOL  sorry... 3.5 year old boy.  I understand now.

  7. Maybe you should go back to school with him to learn how to spell?
