I read in a lot of job postings that they want a degree or the equivalent of a degree. How do I figure out what the equivalent to a degree is? Don't suggest that I go back to school and get a degree. I am sick and tired of school. I also have a journeyman certificate as an electrician.

  1. wow you should have a bachelors degree, and you confused me with i have 3 associates degrees and at the end you said but no degree.

  2. 185 credits is generally a bachelors degree,

however you need to take certian classes to get there.

how do you have three ascociates degrees when those are generally 90 credits a piece.

  3. Actually, if you have 3 associate degrees, those degrees count as a degree.  So you do have a degree just not a four-year degree.  I have the opposite issue.  I have a 4-year degree and  hours towards a Masters but not that much experience just admin mostly.

Most jobs that I see want experience over education because people who have education they feel may be overqualified or at risk for leaving a job that pays an average wage (even though people like me are happy to take whatever). The equivalent would mean work experience how many years you worked...

Anyway, 189 is quite a bit if you meant credit* hours, not day hours.  I got my degree with just 128.
