well they need sand i believe about 3 in deep normally the heat of the sun on the dirt will hatch them if you want to place them outside in and make a makeshift pen for when the hatchligs come out they wontscatter all over the place.another thing to consider is are the eggs fertile because turtles are like chickens they can lay eggs without mating but the eggs will not be fertile.i used to raise and breed box turtles for 10 yrs but they were in an enclosed outdoor pen with blocks underneath so they would not dig out and on 2 occassions they laid eggs.but only one batch of eggs hatched.

yea u should put them in sand but i doubt the will hack bc the weather has to be perfect light heat everything
