  1. i will not as a rule from experience give my cats anything that they could l**k from each other they did it once before and one of them got very ill, i always give them tablets such as 'Johnsons'

it may seem harder to administer as you have to shove them in their mouths but it saves them getting ill.

  2. yes, you place it on the back of their necks where they can't reach to clean it off. If you do all three cats at the same time, they will scatter from each other and by the time they come around to clean each other, it should be dry.

  3. I put Advantage on my cats behind their neck as recommended.  Then, I keep the cats separated until the spot has dried.  Advantage is absorbed fairly quickly so its not a major hardship.  Once the spot has dried it is perfectly safe for the cats to groom each other.

  4. When you have multiple cat that groom each other it has always been my advice although not that of the flea company to put it tiny drops starting at the base of the neck down the back some. Little drops spread out some will dry quicker. I think putting it all in one large wet spot on the neck makes it very easy for them to clean it off and then it does not work as well. If it is in small spread out spots then it is not so obtrusive as one huge wet spot and the cat will not be as annoyed with it hence not frantically concentrating on cleaning off this one big wet spot.

I know the flea companies suggest for cats all one spot the theory being they can not groom it off in that spot on the back of the neck....but lets be realistic there is not a place on a cat that a cat can not reach and groom. If not with their tongue then with the paw and then to the tongue. So waste of time trying to find spot they can not get to  it is utterly impossible.  OH and do not worry it will not hurt them if they get it in their mouths as long as you are using just plain cat advantage they will be fine.

  5. Any of the anti-flea drops say not to allow cats to groom each other when you apply the drops - this is because they can go into anaphylactic shock through taking in/absorbing too much.... however this is only relevant while the liquid is still wet - remember you too are advised not to touch the area straight after it's been applied.  Once it's dried on the animal then there isn't any problem with animal or human contact.....

    :)
