I have 3 motors (5 HP, 7 HP & 10 HP), What size of generator do I have to use to run these motors?

  1. Each motor is rated in horsepower   1 Horsepower=746 watts.

    5HP=3730 Watts. +125%= 4663 Watts

    7HP=5222 Watts  +125%= 6528 Watts

    10P=7460 Watts   +125%= 12,807Watts

    All at the same time 16,412 +125%=20,515 Watts

    Startup Current is more than the running current. A good rule of thumb is raise your current by 125% to compensate for start up.
