If you have a yardsale try selling them there. Go to Craft Show or a Festival.

Do you have some samples you can photograph and add to your post?  I am sure you have beautiful cards for sale.  How much are you trying to sell them for?  Many people are trying to cut corners right now waiting to see what is going to happen.  I too, like generic cards.  This way I can spend a little more on nice cards and write my own greeting inside.  I tend to prefer nature and flowers.  They are calming and cheerful.  Hope this helps!

Check out eBay.com. You can find similar cards to yours there by searching the site with a description of your cards. This will let you know which categories they list in, and some approximate prices they may sell for. Then just enroll as an eBay seller, list your items, and wait and watch.

Well, we are quite possibly heading into a depressed economy, so that might be why . . .

1. How much are you selling them for?

2. Where are you selling them at?  Do you have an online store?

Are they relatively blank or for a specific occasion?

I prefer blank cards myself. If I have a set of beautiful cards with pictures of something generic, like cats or flowers on the front, but nothing written inside... I can write 'happy anniversery" or "happy birthday" or "congratulations" or whatever I want inside. It becomes universally used. So I often buy large boxes of blank cards. I get aggravated when I have to search through cards to find one appropriate for a given occasion, and the more specific the card is, the less likely I will buy it (Happy 30th Bday can only be used for a person turning 30.) The more specific the message the least useful it is to me. I prefer to write something of my own from the heart anyway, and look for blank cards with interesting art.

Try boxing them in sets of 20 and selling them that way instead of one at a time. When making more in the future focus on the art and leave the inside blank for the person to write what they want.

Check out your local art galleries and ask if they have gift shops that will let you sell them for a share of commission. If there are any specialty shops in your area like candle shops or flower shops, ask to speak to the manager and ask to make a deal. Also talk to the gift shops at the local hospitals. Somebody might buy the whole bulk . Everyone going into the hospital is looking for a card to buy.

Card making is one of those things that's easy and fun to do, so it's not a high seller. I would suggest letting everyone in your family know that you have cards, so they will buy them from you instead of in the grocery store.
