  1. Volvo 240.

  2. chevy impala

  3. 98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

  4. A Honda  nor an Acura are reliable or safe

  5. Stay away from a 1989 Mercury Cougar LS because a mechanic has to tear apart half the engine to get to the timing chain cover.

  6. Nissan Altima is a decent car. Very reliable, I have a 1997 Altima with 210,000 miles on it with original engine and transmission. A 2000 model would fit into your budget. The safety ratings for the car is in the link provided, and MPG is about 19 MPG and 27 MPG highway in the second link provided. Whatever car you get maintenance is important. Oil changes, tune ups, etc. Nissan Altima is my recommendation. I am upgrading this month to a 2002 model.

  7. honda or toyota. then convert it to a hybrid.

  8. for 4500 u can get a 2002 saturn sl2 with low miles, they are very safe cars will average between 25 and 35 with upwards of 40 mpg, great reliability, great safety ratings and cheap repair costs which honda, toyota,or volvo in ur price range can not claim.msn reportd 5 out of 5 reliability rating and has a 5 out of 5 crash test rating so i would definently recomend a saturn

  9. Hard one but I would try an acura legend or honda civic, accord
