  1. They should be ok, if the temperature at any point goes to far below 70, buy a 10 gallon tank so u can take them inside

  2. yeah it's ok and my neighbors keep koi in their pond and during the winter they take them inside in to their tank and they have kept them alive for a while.

  3. It's ok until the fish start growing, and then they will need more room, filtration, etc.

Wintertime, if the water will freeze over, a 10 gallon puddle won't keep them safe.

  4. Well the goldfish will get bigger, right? So you need to get a 30 gallon or so for when they are bigger. Im not sure of winter. But they will hibernate anyway.

  5. well goldfish live in coldwater so winter is fine but in a 10 gallon pong no is has to be in at least a 25 gallon

  6. Not even a single goldfish belongs in ten gallons. Either build a bigger pond, or buy a very large aquarium. In order to survive the winter, the pond has to be at least three feet deep.

  7. 1 inch of fish per gallon is the rule of thumb make sure the pond is properly aerated and if it gets below 40 degrees...

Goldfish are natives of freshwater ponds or other slow moving water bodies. They need a pH between 6.0-8.0. The ideal temperature range for the Goldfish pond would be between 40-105 Degrees F. Goldfish is hardy fish generally, but do not survive long at higher temperatures. Goldfish need a lot of oxygen. In ponds, Goldfish will even survive lower temperatures so long as there is enough oxygen in the water. A thin layer of ice will also not affect the Goldfish in such a case. Goldfish are actually low maintenance, colorful and a rewarding addition to any pond.

  8. 4 goldfish need at least a 50 gallon tank or pond.  Keeping them in a small space will stunt their growth and cause organ failure and death.  A common goldfish should reach 12" at maturity and a fancy about 8".  They can survive in a larger pond during the winter as long as it doesn't freeze solid.

  9. you pond is too small upgrade to a 50 instead the bigger the better.

    kOi keeper & goldfish keeper.

  10. goldfish can survive really low temperatures i live in australia and we have a problem keeping our pond cold so 70 degres is like 20 degrees celcius right gold fish can live in temperatures as low as 15dg celcius or 59 degree Fahrenheit and your goldfish should be fine in 10gallons just do weekly water changes of 10-15%

  11. I would put the goldfish in at least a 25 gal tank/pond. 10 gal doesn't leave you with too many options, especially if you ever decide to add more fish. The goldfish will be much happier in 25 gal. You do not need to worry about cold temperatures too much, because goldfish are cold water fish anyway. If temperatures drop anywhere below 70 degrees, buy a 15 gal tank for him to be inside with.

Good luck, hope I've helped! :)

  12. do nothing.
