I have 4 pioneer TSW302R subswoofers that are 4 Ohms and 150 watts RMS and 800 watts peak. I need an amp for these subs. Could I wire all 4 of these subs parallel by connecting all positive speaker wires and all negative speaker wires to one monoblock amp. This is the amp that I am planning on buying.

Legacy LA2228 2000 Watt Monoblock MOSFET Amplifier. It is 1 ohm stable so if I wire all four of my 4ohm subs in parallel it should equal to 1 ohm right? Here are additional details for the amp: Mono Block Subwoofer Amplifier

* 200 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms

* 335 Watts RMS @ 2 Ohms

* 2000 Watts Max

* 1 Ohm Stable

Would this be too much power for my 4 pioneer subs or woudl this work.

Heres more about the amp

  1. Im Sorry to tell you but your Legacy being 1 ohm stable is like saying a $9000 Hyundai has a speedometer that goes to 130.

    It May work at 1 ohm for like 10 minutes at a time before overheating.

    You should be using a 2 channel bridgable amp at 500 RMS @ 4 ohms total.  Here's how :

    Think of each woofer as a coil in a duel coil sub setup.

    Sub #1  and  Sub #2  should be wired in series.(8 ohms total)

    Sub #3  and  Sub #4  should be wired in series.(8 ohms total)

    Then Hook up subs 1/2  and  sub 3/4  in parallel.  (4 ohms total)

    When you put the positive from sub 1/2 to positive sub 3/4, and negative from sub 1/2 to negative sub 3/4,  you are at 4 ohms total for all 4 subs.

    Now Any bridgeable 2 channel amp that gives 500 rms watts at 4 ohms will give you 125 watts to each sub.

    The main benefit is that a 2 channel amp running 4 ohm Bridged works a Lot Cooler than a Low Brand amp playing at 1 ohm.

    Try to get at Least a Kenwood 7104 Bass Amp, it runs 500 rms at 4 ohm bridged and sells full price $199, Ebay $120-130.

    Good luck

  2. this website will help you on how to wire it.

    and i think this amp will supply you with what you need at 1 ohm

  3. you really need to upgrade your amp or get another one and link them together if that amp supports that. if you use the one amp even though it says 2000w it's probably really only putting out about 600-700RMS. your amp would do it, but the amp will be struggling and wont last long. air force is right its not worth it

  4. If your information is correct, you could parallel all four subs to that amplifier.  However, each sub would be receiving about 80 watts only.  To me it seems quite pointless to run 4 subwoofers when you barely have enough power for one.  However that is entirely up to you.  To answer your question though, yes, you can wire all four of those subs in parallel to that amplifier.  Good luck.
