I have 4 decent speakers in my car and two 10" subs -- my amp that I had blew and I need a new one but I know nothing about amps. I'm not looking to power the subs as much as I'd like to get the most out of the speakers. What kind of amp should I get?

  1. If you're not too worried about powering the subs, you could go with a five channel amp. Like this one. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1014...

You'll end up with 55 watts for the mids and highs and 300 watts for the subs. If, you wire them at a 2 ohm final load.

  2. The best thing to do is get a 4-channel amp for the speakers and a mono amp just for the subs.

This is called bi-amping and is the most common setup for what you have.

  3. a zx 700.5
