  1. Probably not. You already have for so I guess they are used to it. :D

  2. They might be a little jealous, but it's more likely that they'll just go on with their own lives, especially the one who's 17.  At that age, they feel they are grown up and have their own plans, jobs, friends, etc.

It would not be out of the ordinary if they were embarrassed by their mom's pregnancy, so be prepared and try not to let that bother you.

The 14 year old may take more interest in the baby.  If I were in your situation, I would invite the older four to help prepare for their new sibling. Let them help decorate the room, pick out clothes, and suggest names for their new brother or sister.  After the baby arrives, have them help take care of him/her.  It will be a win-win situation for all of you.

  3. Wow. You have 4 children and 1 on the way and you can't spell "raising" "having" "jealous" or "coming"... that's just sad.

As for having 4 teenagers and a newborn... of course it's definitely going to be a huge challenge. Since they are older I'm guessing they won't be jealous of the baby.

  4. I was 16 almost 17 when my sister was born.  When I first found out my mom was pregnant I was kinda grossed out (sorry, we don't like thinking about our moms having s*x).  And I really didn't want a younger sibling, but as soon as that little girl got here, I knew right away that I would give the world to her if I could.  My senior year I would stay home sick a lot with Senioritis ha ha, and I would make my mom let my sister stay home from daycare with me.  I taught her to tell my mom she was sick (my mom always knew she was lying, but let her stay anyhow).  We would go to the zoo or the park or aquarium, and have soooo much fun.  She is 4 now, and I can't imagine her not being around.  I have now moved out of the house, and she comes to my house and sleeps over with me and my boyfriend who I live with.  She calls me on a daily basis just to talk, and when she throws a fit my mom makes her call me.  I would give up anything in a heart beat.  I think it has been great having a younger sibling.

My mom has also said this child has been her easiest because of the help she has gotten from me and my sister who is 2 years younger.  Especially now, since my sister was 11 months old, each year my mom and step dad have taken atleast 2 weeks of vacation a year and left my youngest sister with me, knowing that she is safe :)  I don't know how responsible your kids are, but they should be a huge help.

  5. i am 15 and my mom had a baby 10 months ago...i love him to death! i never get jealous or anything when it comes to him i just want whats best for him and i would do anything for him. im sure your children will feel the same!

    Congrats!

  6. Well, I'm a 15 year old girl and my 20 year old brothers girlfriend is pregnant with their first child. I'm not jealous but sometimes i feel a bit sad because i hardly get to see my brother anymore. His girlfriend isn't working or in any form of education so he's working 84 hours a week to support them, but the majority of the time I'm excited. I have got to admit, he makes a lot of effort to involve me. A new baby ? How cool is that ! Your kids probably feel the same way.

  7. Ask them.
