I bought 2 piece of 2gb of ram ( Total = 4GB of Ram ) , but when I go to the properties in my computer they tell me that I have only 3.24GB of Ram.. How could this happen?

Does it mean that there's something wrong with the Ram and I should exchange it or it's a normal thing?

  1. It is normal. Windows XP 32-bit and Windows Vista 32-bit can only address around 3 GB of memory even though 4 GB is installed.

    Look at source!

  2. no, the b******s who sell you your computers and all add-ons always severely overestimate their capability of their products, for instance, my 320 GB external hard drive actually has 298 GB...

  3. If you are not running a 64bit system this is normal.

    A 32bit system will only recognize 3gigs.

The only other thing that I can think of is if you are running on board video.  That will take some of your ram from your actual number

  4. YOUR RUNNING 32 BIT ...COMP. WILL ONLY SEE 3.4 GIGS U NEED TO RUN 64 BIT TO SEE ALL 4 GIGS .........
