If you have been to Rome, please tell me which places would be the best to visit. I am going there in December. Unfortunately I have been told by the tour manager that I will only have 5 hours.

  1. I would see the vatican, the collisium, and the fountain. All are beautiful. There are so many things to see in Rome. Remember that each will probably take 1-2 hours because of the line ups (depending on the time of year). So probably won't get to see more than 3 main things.

  2. St Peters Square, Coloseum

  3. the Colosseum

Vatican - in museum you can spend a couple of hours

Fontana di trevi - if you trow a coin behind your back you will come again in Rome

You will find a lot of things to see on your way through the streets of the eternal city

  4. Ask your self what you want to see the most.  The Colosseum is great, and next to a large living/working complex.  The fountain is very romantic, and next to the Pantheon.  St. Peter's church is great too and can visit a castle near by.  You will waste  a lot of time just getting to one of these three choices, so you have to decide which is your passion.  Have a great time regardless of your choice!  Here is an article that might give you some better ideas: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05303/596...

  5. I suggest you to stay in the central zone , and visit the baroque zone: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, S. Ignazio, Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna...

...or you can visit St. Peter, Michelangelo Pietà and the square (not the Vatican Museums, too big for few hours) the Rione Borgo and Castel S. Angelo...

...or, if you prefer the ancient Rome, you can go on Piazza Campidoglio, the Roman Forum, Constantin Arch and Colosseum.

    Enjoy :)
