  1. You'll get a higher voltage output by hooking them up in series, but if you are using them to charge a battery you are probably better off hooking them up in parallel.

    You'll get the same power output either way, but without know your voltage requirements, or what your using them for, that all I can say.

    Series:  (Voltage of 1 Panel) x (5 panels) = (output voltage)

                   Current remains constant

    Parallel:  (Voltage of 1 Panel) = (output voltage)

                   Current flow = 5 x single panel current


  2. I'd hook them up in series, + to - in a row.  However, take Jello's advice and look at the installation instructions if you have them.

  3. You cannot create the most power.  The power of the cells is determined by how they are made.  Power = Volts * Amps.  

    If you hook up all the positives (+) the voltage will remain the same, the current output with be the total of all the panels.

    If you hook them up positive to negative (+ / -) then the voltage will be the sum of all the panels.

    Always follow manufactures instructions, as incorrect wiring can cause the panels to fail, or injury to persons.
